NEWS: AOSENMA CG035 with Optical positionning and 5.8G 1080p WiFi camera

Remember the Aosenma CG35?, probably one of the chepeast GPS quadcopter with a 2-axis brushed gimbal ?. Here is a new revision: https://www.banggood.com/AOSENMA-CG035-Double-GPS-Optical-Positioning-WIFI-FPV-With-1080P-HD-Camera-RC-Quadcopter-p-1193495.html.

There are two versions: a basic version without WiFi camera and one advanced with a 5.8G WiFi camera. Be aware, your smartphone must support these channels and in general you can have problems with non-chinese android devices. Like the former edition, a double GPS system is here: one module in the GPS, one in the transmitter to perform follow me. On novelty is the introduction of a Visual Positionning system with optical flow analysis. They remove the infficient gimbal for a fixed camera mount welcoming a 1080p@24fps camera with 120 degrees of FOV broadcasting the FPV signal as well for an app. Classic GPS flight modes are proposed: RTH, GPS-stabilization …. and thanks to double GPS system, a follow me function. IMHO with the introduction of a specialized App, the machine can be seen as a new competitor of the Hubsan H501A and the MJX Bugs B2W. I really hope the camera will offer respectable performances at least in term of light sensitivity and frame rate. The control range is advertized to be around 500m.. I guess is still based on a FlySky 2.4G solution. For the WiFi FPV link, we can obtain 300m for iOS phones and up to 500m for androids. IMHI, only the new WiFI version is interesting versus the former model.

Sure looks like that camera is sitting on the ground? They should have made the legs longer for at least a little clearance.

  • Tim Smith says:

According to the factory there is no gimbal on this model and any adjustments to the camera anglr need to be done on the ground!! I have downloaded the app which is a little strange but it is difficult to get questions answered at the factory but I will be receiving one at end of sep/ early Oct!! Black is a custom build but for large quantities the old wifi version can still be produced!!

    • Marco says:

Where did you downlaod the APP for the new CG035-W ?

      • SeByDocKy says:

I didn’t donwload it ….. so can’t tell where to donwload it ;(

        • Tim Smith says:

I downloaded it from apple app store and from Google play! It is found by searching for aosenma. There is a qr code for auto finding supplied with the new model!
Hey Seby where did you find the vast software file? Did you get it from a Hohem website? Could we have the Hohem link that you used please!

  • A good quadcopter with very bad photo and video system: no gimbal, no seriuos camera, no remote contro for camera orientation. For only fly is good choice. But not for photograpy!

    • SeByDocKy says:

you tested the new version with the new 1080p camera and without the (horible) gimbal ?

    • Tim Smith says:

I have been using this drone for about 8 weeks. I have had 2 cameras due to an electronics failure in the first. The camera has been modified already to try to increase the range so I now own the new version. Wifi range with iphone 5s is quite poor (around 100 metres) Facebook user group and You Tube reviewers reporting shaky video due to motor vibration. New firmware requested by factory to solve this but I haven’t tested it as I am awaiting a part. I am told that this is a big improvement. I understand that the motors and Escs are better in this model and there are now metal washers on the motor screws to prevent loosening. Camera video and photo quality good. Optical flow sensor only relevant in non gps mode. There is a motorised one axis gimbal available for it but unless the control signal has been improved on this model the servo will go crazy. Awaiting info about the signal.

Hi! I am new to this drone business. I got myself a mini drone to practice before taking my CG035 for a spin this summer. My CG035 arrived yesterday and I assembled it today. I have an issue with the optical sensor placement. If I follow exactly what the instructions say and show to do, the wired connection is not even close to the plug in spot on the drone. I had to rotate the optical sensor to mount it (180 degrees), so the connection could reach. Is this going to affect the way the sensor works? Or does the rotation of the sensor have no implications?

    • SeByDocKy says:

Unfortunatly I have no idea…. but is the camera is here to measure the ground distance, I think it will be invariant to any rotation…. so should work for your case

Thank you sebydocky. I took it for a test spin and besides having issues getting the 3 press launch button to launch and land the drone, it seemed to hover ok. I was not getting GPS signal according to the remote, so I will try it outside and see if that will make a difference.
