NEWS: Eachine Lizard 105S, the new best-seller ?

The new incoming Lizard 105S is slighty larger but they improve almost every electronic and structural points. Now the main carbon chassis is reforced by latteral carbon bars… so fast latteral crashes will be even better absorbed. The central part is taller and the camera free of props occlusion. In term of compounds, the Lizard 105S now integrates a F4+OSD board with BF 3.2.0. Good news IMU are dampened so no risk of crazy freaks out More the MPU is the 6800 variant, known to be stable. Motors are 1104 but @6000Kv so 4S compatible directly. Maybe here we could expect some 1105 motors type…. The ESCs handle 28A !!!, compatible BLheli_S/Dshot600 of course and can manage directly 4S obviously. We have a buzzer, led strip bar configurable via betaflight… One important novolty is the FPV camera also recording the live video in 720p@60 fps !!!!! Great !!! Well of course two questions are raised with such combo: 1) What will be the extra latency introduced into the FPV signal to encode this 720p flux at 60fps and 2) what will be the general light sensitivity of the sensor ?. For the second question, I am a little bit afraid since it’s only a basic 1/4″ CMOS sensor behind the scene. Of course, it won’t reach the quality of the Runcam Split Micro… but who knows, it can be a nice surprize. To broadcast the FPV signal, a 25mW/200mW 48CH VTX is here. Three choices of receiver are offered. 1) A FrSky XM+ (excellent choice for the range, but I hope preflashed with RSSI compatible firmware), a FlySly AFHDS-2A receiver announced to support telemetry via iBus (a novelty) and Spektrum DSM2/X model. This new Lizard 105S looks really promizing….. I should grab one for a review….. So Wait & See.

    You certainly should test it. I have no doubt about performance, but interesting points are flight time camera (picture, VTX) and crashworthiness.

    La caméra du Lizard95 était vraiment nulle … Très mauvaise image (surtout en lumière “moyenne”), et qualité du cablage déplorable (faux contact, chiant à ressouder).
    J’étais à la fois ravi de la perfo du drone (super pêche), mais très déçu par l’image, et aussi la “portée” du VTX et même du RX (en FlySky pour ma part)
    Par la suite je suis passé à des drones un peu plus gros mais plus solides et finalement plus pratiques (sauf pour le transport). Je ne vois plus tellement l’intérêt de ces tout petits drones qui au final nécessitent quand même beaucoup d’espace pour être utilisés.
    La taille a un impact trop négatif sur leur robustesse et leurs performances, à prix équivalent d’un drone de plus grande taille

      assez d’accord, c’est vrai que ces petites machines présentent toujours des problèmes qu’on retrouve moins sur de plus grosse machines et si c’est pour l’intérieur, elles sont trop puissantes finalement…
      Ce qui me plait le plus actuellement c’est un cadre 160mm, des moteurs 1407, un minicube 25A et une Runcam micro, mais surtout des hélices 4 pouces pour plus de souplesse et de rendement

    I think this quad would have been great if they just put the RunCam split mini. Who wants 720p if the resolution is low ? How good is the quality of the video ? At least RunCam split mini, is 1080p/60 and has very good quality video.

      Defnitively we are all waiting a machine with the split mini pre-installed. First sample of the 720p videos are pretty good…. Now what about the latency…. introduced by the 720p module…. We will see.
