NEWS: HALO Drone PRO, a real DJI competitor ?

Rare are the real DJI competitors … and maybe a real new is introduced. This is the Halo Drone pro: https://www.haloboard.com/collections/halo-drones/products/halo-drone-pro

Ok it’s much more larger than a DJI Mavic, the total weight is about the weight of a phantom (1.4Kg). The Halo pro integrates a 3-axis gimbal with a detachable 4K@30fps camera where EIS on 6-axis is also active. Clearly the video stabilization with this double layers of mechanical and electronic technics is promised to be very super efficient. The machine is large but with foldable arms. The pro version comes with a full transportation bag. Video transmission is based on a specialized 5.8G WiFi up to 800m. The machine can reach up to 45mph(72km/h). 22 min of flight time are also promised.

Have a look to the Justin’s video…. Clearly the developper team spent a lot of time to offer a super ergonomic interface.

Inboard videos are really promising and follow-me results look just great !!!

No obstacle detection ? At that price level, mmh…

Yes you are right … at least the video stabilization works fine …. Dislike so many many DJI wannabes …

Yep, but video stabilisation works like a charm on dji devices also. So what’s the differentiator there? You don’t buy a product just because it’s a credible competitor, do you?

For me new competitor = new features added, probably lower prices…. and will kick DJI to their own confort zone…. In general when there is competition, customers will enjoy results at the end… Don’t worry, I am not anti-DJI :)… They have best products and far away from any other actually

I have the Halo and it does not come close to the Mavic or Mavic Air. I wanted this to be the next big drone. Disappointed is an understatement. I will give Halo.credit for one thing. Their marketing did a fantastic job in markety this thing to look good. Unfortunately when you receive the drone, reality sets in and you realize that you will never see that $1k ever again. Halo will probably market selling dog shit as filet mignon next. Someone will buy it. This time it won’t be me.
