NEWS: TopSky F7X 720p, 42deg FOV, builtin DVR

Clearly, largely inspired from Fatshark goggles, a new chinese brand Topsky introduces soon a new model with 720p builtin screens, 42 degrees of Field Of View (maybe too large IMHO), a builtin DVR and HDMI in: https://www.banggood.com/TOPSKY-F7X-2D-3D-5_8G-40CH-169-FPV-Goggles-Video-Glasses-With-Battery-Support-HDMI-DVR-p-1187507.html

The new model weights also about 190g and is equiped of a Fan. Like the fatsharks, you have two latteral spaces where you can insert one 5.8G receiver and one headtracker or two 5.8G receivers. I am pretty sure a diversity unique module can be adapted too in order to have diversity and headtracker in the same time. This model is able also to display 3D sources (probably SBS 3D sources). All the specifications looks super promising. Can be a nice surprize in the FPV market. I asked to review them…. maybe I will be able to…

    Hi SeByDocKy,

On the paper wich one did you recommande between these an Aomway Commander ?

    • SeByDocKy says:

Hard to advise…. first, I need to be sure than diversity module can be installed… Dépends also of quality of the LCD screens and the DVR part…. So we can’t conclude yet. I hope to grab them to be able to do this comparaison

42 fov is not too big for me. Honestly, I’d rather have it completely immersive with a very large fov and then switch the lens on my camera to a 2.1 (or similar) with a wide angle of view.

The biggest limitation I see between reaching complete immersion with a balance of wide fov goggles and wide aov lens is having to transmit the signal – with the current pixel count limited to keep latency down. Waiting for the day that breakthrough in low latency HD video..

    • SeByDocKy says:

For HD transmission, the latency won’t be the unuque problem to solve … fast reconnection when the signal is lost is another one too 🙁 … Maybe the tradeoff would be to have an HD analog system. I read some years ago the japonese developped some stuff in HD analog…. It would be not so bad if it can be reused for FPV
